The Brief

This isn't a job application.
It's a full day video challenge.

We're not looking at your CV. We're looking at whether you can shoot, edit, and hold someone's attention — because that is what you'll do during your internship.

What the day is

One full day at The Playground Studios in Rialto: a real client brief in the morning, a few hours to script, shoot and edit on-site, then you present your cut to the room. It's the actual job, compressed into a single Saturday.

What we're looking for

Students at any Irish college or university who are camera-confident, sharp on TikTok/Instagram/YouTube, and obsessed with trends, editing and storytelling. Marketing degree optional. Instinct isn't.

What you get.

One winner takes the internship seat. Three walk away with prize money. And nobody who turns up on the day leaves empty-handed.

Limited to one application per person

How It Works

Four stages. One winner.

Each stage stacks on the last — keep scrolling to work through the whole run.

01

Apply

Submit a 45–60 second vertical video answering: "Why should Fearless Media choose you?" No production budget required — a phone is enough.

02

Shortlist Only 15 selected

15 creators are chosen based on camera presence, editing instinct, and team compatibility. Only that shortlist is invited to the final.

03

The Final At The Playground

Finalists get a real client brief in the morning, a few hours to script, shoot and edit on-site, then present their cut to the room. This is the actual job, compressed into one day.

04

Winner Announced Live

The winner is announced the same day, on camera, and the internship begins shortly after — working directly with Thomas and the Fearless team.

The Fifteen

15 seats. One winner.
Nobody leaves empty-handed.

Only fifteen creators make it to the live final at The Playground Studios. Getting picked is the hard part — and it opens doors well past the one prize.

15
Finalists selected

Out of every entry we get, fifteen people get the call. That shortlist is the credential — it says you were one of the fifteen strongest student creators who applied, regardless of who wins on the day.

A fifteen-person cohort

The final isn't a queue of interviews. Fifteen creators spend the day at The Playground Studios scripting, shooting, editing and pitching alongside each other — with food laid on, and everyone there chasing the same thing you are.

The group chat Opt-in

Finalists can opt into the Fearless Media community group, where we share briefs, paid work and openings as they come up. Joining is entirely optional, and you can leave whenever you want.

Sponsors in the room Opt-in

Partner brands back the day and bring their own internships, freelance briefs and commissions. Tick the box on the form and we can introduce you — it's optional and has no bearing on the judging.

Judging Criteria

We're not scoring your camera gear.

Personality and instinct outweigh production value — every category below matters more than how expensive your setup is.

Questions

Before you hit record.

One 45–60 second vertical video answering "Why should Fearless Media choose you?", plus a short set of written questions about the creators and brands you rate. No production budget required — a phone is enough. That's it: no CV, no cover letter.

No. A phone is more than enough. Production quality is deliberately the lowest-weighted thing we score — personality, camera confidence and creativity together make up 60% of the marks. We'd rather see a sharp idea shot on an iPhone than a dull one shot on a cinema camera.

Not at all. We're open to any student enrolled at a college or university in Ireland, whatever you're studying. Editors, photographers, podcasters and content creators across disciplines are all welcome — if you make things people actually watch, you're the right fit.

Finalists come into The Playground Studios in Rialto, Dublin on Saturday 10 October 2026. You get a real client brief in the morning, a few hours to script, shoot and edit on-site, and then you present your cut to the room. Food is provided, and the winner is announced the same day, on camera.

A 12-month internship at roughly 20 hours a week, running from October 2026 to October 2027, working directly with Thomas Arnold and the team at Fearless Media on real client content — plus €1,000 prize money as winner of the competition. Second place takes €350 and third place €150. Full terms are confirmed in writing with the winner before anything starts.

Only if you say yes. The application form has a consent tickbox — strong entries may be reposted on Fearless's channels during the competition, and plenty of entrants want that reach. If you'd rather keep your entry private, leave it unticked and it stays between us.
